Description
Adobe Flash CS3/8: Rich Content Creation is an introductory course for designers and budding developers new to the Flash environment. In this course, students will produce an engaging interface using text, graphics, animations, video, and sound. Simple user interactions are added using built in ActionScript behaviors and Script Assist. Adobe Flash 8: Rich Content Creation focuses on the essentials, and emphasizes best practices throughout the course.

Audience
This course is for beginners: designers and developers new to Flash who want to learn the interface and commonly used features. To gain the most from this class, students should:
• Be familiar with Windows or Mac OS X
• Be familiar with the Web and its terminology

Course Objectives:
By the time students are finished with this course, they will be able to:

· Create a Flash Document and set up a Flash document
· Import and create graphics
· Use Flash 8 drawing tools
· Create and use symbols
· Produce Motion and Shape animations

FL11 Adobe Flash CS3: Advanced Rich Content

Advanced Rich Content with Adobe Flash CS3 teaches Adobe Flash users principles and techniques for designing compelling Adobe Flash sites: how to lay out pages in Flash, use color and text effectively, work with multiple image types, make Adobe Flash usable, and incorporate sound and video. This course primarily uses the Adobe Flash Timeline to create content.

Course topics include:

  • Integration with Fireworks, Freehand, Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Site and page structure
  • Using color effectively
  • Addressing Adobe Flash text issues, such as antialiasing and embedded fonts
  • Advanced image techniques, including optimization, movie clip masking
  • Dynamic loading of JPEG's and other SWF's
  • Linking items from the library
  • Structuring Adobe Flash CS3 documents with the Timeline
  • Incorporating sound and video effectively
  • Using interactive text
  • Building hybrid Flash/HTML pages in Dreamweaver (Round trip Illustrator, Photoshop or Fireworks to Flash and then to Dreamweaver)


Prerequisites: FL10 or permission of the instructor and familiarity with other graphic programs (Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, Freehand) and terms.
